Great for dew claws

My guy Fynn has all 4 dew claws and has sensitivity. All the other dog shoes would wrap around where there are and he would end up limping shortly after we would start our hikes. After months of research on better for him shoes I found Clawgs. Love them and how much improved our hikes are.
I had an issue with one of the shoes that fell apart, when I contacted them I was sent a new one immediately. Great company that stand behind there product.

Thank you for the review and for sharing a pic of handsome Fynn. It's such a treat for me to see where Clawgs are going. Happy trails!

Simple design and keeps feet cool

I have a service dog and take him everywhere with me. It’s nice to carry these with me to use on hot days. We can go most of the day without having to take them off as the shoes are very breathable. A must have for any dog lover!

Thank you for your review! If you ever need more Clawgs, please contact me about the service dog discount.

Still the best dog shoes out there so far!

Must haves for service dog handlers! They allow my dog better range of motion and I love that they go below the dew claw! Also super compact and very easy to put on compared to other dog shoes. Only issue I noticed was some chafing on my dog’s metacarpal pads after really long periods (5+ hours) of walking in them, but smoothing out the seam at the “heel” mostly fixed that issue.

Solved one problem, caused another

I bought these for my dog who I long distance hike with because she has sensitive feet. Other boots I have used cause sores around her dew claws since she is wearing the boots while walking 15-20 miles per day. I bought a pair of clawgs hoping it would give her feet some relief while avoiding the dew claw problem. The good news is that they did not cause any rubbing on her dew claws. The bad news is they created sores on the insides of her toes instead. I tried these bare and with socks, as well as paired with various foot salves. Nothing helped. They also did not stay on as well as well as more traditional boots. I stopped using them since they caused more problems than they solved.

Thanks for the review. Although I'm glad there was no rubbing on dew claws, there should not ever be rubbing 'on the inside of toes' or in between toes. In fact, no part of Clawgs should ever be between toes. Clawgs wrap around the OUTSIDE of toes! If they're between toes, the straps are improperly adjusted OR the Clawgs are too small, which could also cause Clawgs to fall off because there isn't space for toes when dogs stand and/or front toes pressing against front straps preventing you from pulling heel straps above the bone prominence, which you can feel on the sides of legs near paw tops. Up above the leg bone prominence is where heel straps should be tightened.

To determine if Clawgs are the correct size, please focus on Clawgs soles' front edge in relation to dogs' front pads and front claws. Clawgs' sole's front edge should fully protect front pads but not touch front claws while dogs are standing on a solid surface. Please disregard side claws. It's normal for one or both side claws to contact the sole rather than the ground in properly sized Clawgs.

If you share a photo of your dog standing on a solid surface in Clawgs (help@dogsap.com), I'll share my sizing and strap adjustment opinion. Although we're past your 30 day return window, I'm happy to swap sizes for you if needed. I'm also happy to work with you until we get Clawgs performing correctly for your dog. Please email me.

Plastic spiece was cumbersome and difficult to adjust

Even though the shoe part was a food fit, the device to secure the straps is too cumbersome and hard to adjust. Also, Jake didnt like the large plastic part on top of his foot.

Thanks for the review! It's not easy to fit eight adjustment points into such a small area, but it's necessary to get the best fit on ALL dogs - regardless of how wide or narrow their paws are or how large or rounded their knuckles are. Although some people find the buckle challenging at first, most people think it's relatively easy once they learn all the ins and outs. I'm happy to help you with strap adjustments that should make Jake more comfortable. I've also got some tricks to shorten excess strap lengths and lock straps into place so you don't need to adjust them again. If you send photos of Jake standing on a solid surface in Clawgs, I'd be happy to give you some pointers!

Still a stretch?
